Established in 1999, ASI has earned a reputation for developing and implementing practical, innovative and cost-effective web-based business solutions for member-based organizations and associations as well as the government sector (municipal, provincial and federal).

ASI also delivers custom application development services, website design and deployment, database design and management, technical support and application hosting and management (managed services) other IT-related services. ASI has recognized the importance of working closely with its clients to improve its products and services and strives to delivers its products and services on time and on budget.

ASI’s success is based on practical and affordable solutions; often delivered in partnership with our clients to ensure buy-in from all parties and leveraging the notion of shared accountability. ASI’s diverse team of professionals continues to expand to address our client’s needs and ensure that we meet or exceed expectations.

Management Team

Steven J. Desrocher
President and Chief Executive Officer
Steve founded ASI after spending the first part of his career with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and the Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA). Improving access to information, collaboration and creating easy to use, affordable software are key goals for Steve at ASI. Steve attended York University where he majored in Accounting and Economics.

Al D. Kostiuk, P. Eng.
Vice-President, Engineering Systems
Al joined ASI in February 2004 after being with EarthTech (Canada) Inc. for 15 years. Al is a professional engineer and brings a unique perspective on asset management business solutions and an understanding of the role of information technology in the delivery of the public works infrastructure business. Al is responsible for the design and development of the Municipal DataWorks (MDW) application the ASI developed in partnership with the Ontario Good Roads Association.

John M. Calderon
Vice President, Business Development
John joined ASI in July 2006. John has over 15 years of experience in the publishing sector in the areas of market research and business intelligence, new business development, corporate and investor relations, strategic planning. John is responsible for new business development and strategic partnerships. John will work closely with clients, including associations and chambers of commerce, to develop and implement membership growth, revenue-sharing and other value-added programs.

Joel M. Elash
Director, Client Services
Joel joined ASI in August of 2000. Prior to joining ASI, Joel attended Carleton University, where he earned an Honours Degree in Transportation and Urban Geography. Following that, Joel returned to school to complete post-graduate work in Environment  Joel is responsible for all projects, client accounts and client relations. Joel also plays an important role in the continued product development of ASI products and services as they evolve to meet the needs of our clients.

Peter Henderson
Chief Technology Officer
Peter is the Chief Technology Officer. Peter has over ten years of public and private sector experience. He provides technical leadership, and mentoring to ASI's technical staff. Peter attended the University of Waterloo and spent time with the Ministry of Transportation and the Ontario Good Roads Association before joining ASI. Peter’s broad knowledge and keen ability to solve problems make him a key resource at ASI.

Candace Barry, B.Sc.
Director of Operations
Candace spent several years with EarthTech (Canada) prior to joining ASI. Candace has experience with GIS solutions and a variety of asset management applications. Candace provides leadership to the MDW project at ASI and interacts with key clients on technical issues. Candace is a member of the PMI.
